> I have the L model and wish the wings would swing open. Anyone know or > have experience with this? My non-GL is a metal dash and bumpers rubber mat tweed upholstery L model as well. I changed the non-opening wings for opening ones early on (wife demanded it, due to non-working AC). It's not difficult, but it's a bit of an ordeal. You have to take the roll-up window glass to have enough room to wrangle the wing upright into place. Once you figure out how it goes, it gets easier--- Budget 2 or 3 hours for the first one, and 45 minutes for the second. I noticed no significant additional noise from the change, but I got a pretty good set of window rubbers and reconditioned them excessively before installation. -- John Bange '90 Vanagon - "Lastwagen" '90 Vanagon GL - "Wiesel" ------------------------------------------------------------ + To unsubscribe from the Vanagon List send an e-mail to + listserv@gerry.vanagon.com with SIGNOFF VANAGON + in the body of the message. ------------------------------------------------------------ |
