I feel your pain. I have run into this problem several times. One project I had planned required aluminum-composite sandwich panels, but I was never able to find a supplier willing to sell me less than a truck load. The hardest part is often finding out what the item's generic name is. > BTW, would you believe that the only place I found that I could buy small > quantities of the item I was looking for (Riv Nuts) was eBay? In this case, I think you might have better luck if you look around under other names. "Riv-Nut" is a brand name for a certain type of rivet nut. Another brand is NutSert. Also searching for "nutsert" and "rivet nut" yield a lot more results than "rivnut" alone. It'll probably be hard to find 'em in quantities less than bags of 50 online, but there seem to be plenty of them. Even so, ebay might actually be cheapest. I end up getting a LOT of odd fasteners off ebay. -- John Bange '90 Vanagon - "Lastwagen" '90 Vanagon GL - "Wiesel" ------------------------------------------------------------ + To unsubscribe from the Vanagon List send an e-mail to + listserv@gerry.vanagon.com with SIGNOFF VANAGON + in the body of the message. ------------------------------------------------------------ |
