Subject: Bus vs Vanagon, how times change
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

It seems like just a few years ago on this list and elsewhere it was discussed and debated from time to time whether it was proper to call a Vanagon a VW bus. Vanagon ads here and there mentioned 'bus' when talking about Vanagons. Many were opposed and saw this as Vanagon people trying to horn in on the aura or mystic of the older "real" VW vans. Now, looking around, it seems the tables have completely turned. Everywhere there are ads for older VW van stuff of all types that prominently mention 'vanagon', surely a far larger stretch than calling a Vanagon a bus was.
