I have seen a couple of these over the years. I had a customer with one of these except his was silver. It was kinda stupid. They stripped down a Vanagon giving you the rubber mats instead of carpet and the old metal dash board instead of the foam one (how much money are we saving here a hundred or less?). It had the black metal front and rear bumpers instead of the fiberglass ones that all of the 89-91 Vanagons normally had and no side cladding. If it were stripped down then there would be some sense to it. But this one had A/C, power steering, power mirrors, power door locks, and power windows as well. The rear seat turns into a bed (of scratchy wool material). It makes you wonder who would order such a stripped down model and then add all of the extras. You would think they would have just paid a little bit more and got a Carat edition instead. You seem to see this stripped down Carat like model on Ebay more than anywhere else for some reason.

Have fun! Ken Wilford John 3:16 www.vanagain.com
