its not a "Carat L" its a '90-'91 base model non-GL vanagon.  nothing odd
about it, you could order one brand new from the dealer and load it up with power
options.   ive seen the non-GL's with power mirrors, lock, and windows as
well.

they all came w/ grey tweed, rubber mats, no dashpad, no tach, no armrests,
no vent windows, steel bumpers and wheels, jumpseats and rear sofabed but no
side table.
exterior colors were only white or silver. 2wd or 4wd.

also this is the only way you could get a syncro passenger van in '90-'91.

like ken said i found it odd that VW would give the jumpseats and sofabed
standard on this model but no other option.

and just like mark D said, the "limited" badge is from something else, not a
volkswagen.
