good call on the electrical problems. NB's are assembled in Mexico of course. The April 2008 issue of Consumer Reports lists the NB, from 02 to 07. Solid black marks for electrical on the 03 to 07 models. for an overall score they were 'not that bad' on the 02, and black marks on the 03 to 07's.

the tdi version will be fine until it needs an expensive serious repair. and to be fair...............all modern cars are like that, weather diesel or gas, but some are better than others. I suspect the 1.8 turbo engine has cost a few NB owners some serious dollars in repairs too.
