Technically ANY van designed to carry people in the back is a "bus"
(true MPV). For instance, Toyota marketed the Kombi-equivalent
(bare-bones basic, with vinyl bench seats) Hiace as Minibus in some
markets.

 The "Vanagon was only sold under this name in North America, a small
fraction of its market; this is also the only market in which it was
not regarded as a Type 2, which of course it is. Everywhere else it is
called "Bus" along with the earlier Type 2s.

So it is as correct to call a T3 a Bus as to so call a T1 or T2. There
is no stretch in doing so. There is no "Bus vs Vanagon".
