We replaced the single incandescent kitchen fixture with two 18" fluorescents from a RV place.  Individually switched, they provide nice light, more and better  than the original.  This required removal of the curtain tray for access to the wiring behind and for drilling holes and routing wiring channels.  Well worth the effort.

Any recommendations for replacing the kitchen light on 84 westy with
something more energy efficient? Also want to add a light by the side door.
Looking for something that doesn't flicker and gives off a soft light. Not
