Unless you celebrated the American Thanksgiving in your Vanagon - I don't see why the topic would have made it to the list.  Canada has Thanksgiving in October and not a mention of it was on the list.  Same as elections and all the other political stuff - should not be on the Vanagon list - facebook has all sorts of groups where you can indulge in that sort of stuff.  Don't mean to offend to what you are saying - happy thanksgiving in all - but what makes something important or not important enough to be on the list - I think the simple thread of Vanagon is what is important.
