The damage from the deer strike of Oct 13 is officially settled by my
insurance company.
I received a check from Mel the insurance adjuster for $4326  as
compensation for the repairs due on my 89 Westy.
The e-mailed references to theSamba and GoWesty sites must have
jogged him into a better understanding of the real world values on these
Wunderbusses of ours.

I will take the 89 to the body shop on Dec 8 for the repairs to
start.  Until then we will gather up a new bumper, bra, headlight
adjuster screws,
to go with the lower grill, right side turn signal with lens, and
various nuts and bolts that I have already procured from my shelves
and spare parts locker.
FWIW, I have had a long term relationship with this shop since 1978
when the shop owner was a new fender pounder just out of high
school.  He and I tag teamed
Mel for a few weeks in getting a higher value placed on the Westy so
that the repairs could be made without salvage titling it.

The 89 will go into winter storage after being repaired... only to
await out next Westy adventure in the Spring.
