Only problem is, the Vanagon Digifant is a very early iteration of the product line and doesn't HAVE an On-Board Diagnostic system. Not a single byte of non-volatile memory in there. Every time you turn the ignition on and power up the ECU, it's as if it's powering up for the first time. Its output is all done through lookup tables in ROM. It has a "fault mode" for O2 sensor failure, but its general response to bad input values is simply bad engine running. Later Digifant I's and II's had basic "blinky light" fault codes, but not us. No, OUR Digifant is basically the old L-JetTronic with ignition control and a few other things added on.
