I've got two 'recarro like' front seats..........that are thin enough of the
bottom to fit into a vanagon .......
need some adaptation though of course............light weight too, pretty
decent actually.
I'd sell 'em for not 'way way' too much.
also...............this IS a lot of work.............but one Ultimate
vanagon front seats are the leather buckets out of 740 Volvo's .......
been driving one of those for years in my personal vanagon
...............it's 5 times better than a stock seat, at least. Comfy,
luxurious, and very good support, with lumbar adjustment, and back angle
adjustment of course. They even have heating elements in
them...........almost more of a 'throne' than a mere seat.
As far as 'car seats' in gerneral go...............like what's in really
good European cars, I'd only rate stock vanagon seats as 'adequate'
...........and even only 'somewhat adequate' - they're lacking in the under
thigh area .........sort there, noticed it right off the bat on my first
Vanagon.
If I find time, I'll engineer some of my leather volvo seats to fit in
vangons, and offer them for sale. If someone wants to buy one and do the
fabricating/fitting work themselves, I'd consider that.
Vanagons rock ! - anin't nuthin' like 'em !
