I was merely stating my opinion. You see the fellow describe so completely
goes against everything I know about VW folks based on my experience both in
person and from this list.

I did not however say he didn't have a right to drive a Vanagon - nor did I
say he didn't have a right to live and express his beliefs (no matter how
repulsive I find them). He of course has every right to do both.

It was also my personal opinion/wish - and attempt at a bit of humor, saying
I hoped he sold his Vanagon.

Your answer:
Because it's not about pride in your race or ethnicity - as proven by the
message the original story states he sent to the list. This guy's views were
about hate and intolerance. Thus being directly counter to the "live and let
live" mantra you mentioned above.

Once again an intentionally innocent comment about a story I found enjoyable
has been over analyzed and misunderstood. :)
