Jon, you said,

>> I've been intrigued by this unit...Sanyo 1-DIN CD/Cassette Receiver FXCD550, A single DIN stereo receiver with both CD and Cassette built in. I believe it is discontinued, but still seems to be stock in a few places. It used to be carried by Crutchfield. Buy.com shows it for around $200. http://www.buy.com/prod/sanyo-fxcd-550-car-audio-player-cd-r-cd-rw-audio-cassette-cd-da-4-200w/q/loc/111/202016083.html <<

I researched that Sanyo unit at crutchfield.com back in the day.

As you well know, we travel a lot, so I was looking for the best tuner for my budget, and wanted to include a tape player. According to Crutchfield's specs chart, theSanyo tuner section was pretty weak, 13dbf(?). I passed on it for a Sony AM/FM casette with a decent tuner. (around 8.5dbf)

It seemed Immediately after ordered, a rep from Crutchfield called me up to tell me that it wouldn't fit. (too long) He was almost right, but with a little extra effort on my part, (BFH) gettin' 'er done was no problem.
