When I first bought my '85 Westy, back in '02, the drain below the fridge was packed tightly with powdered rust. I used a coat hanger wire and "Rodded" it out and used a vacuum to clean it. Then I removed the flue cover and associated parts, exposing the exhaust and intake ports, and I alternated between the two with a shop vac. I initially heard lots of rattling in the pipes as rust and junk was vacuumed out. Finally, when there was no more noise, I put it all back together and the fridge lit on the first try. I've never had any trouble with it going out ... not even when driving. Mine works fine on propane as well as on AC and DC.

Mike
