I had never messed with a propane fridge before getting my westy (other than my grandmother's old Servell, which I only messed with to get ice cream sandwiches out of) but there's really something to be said for using the westy as a base camp for hiking or bicycling, and coming back to it every three or four days for cold food and drink. Propane rocks. Just ask Hank Hill.
