I agree. When you think about it, the high prices caused so much of a
shift away from gasoline usage, that they've screwed themselves permanently.
Now they need to see how stupid we must be,and poor our memories are, to
lower prices just long enough to get us all back to being 'hooked' again.
IIRC, diesel was always cheaper than gas. A barrel of crude is cracked
into many products, one of the cheapest, lowest grades is kerosene/ home
heating oil/ jet fuel/ diesel fuel. There's no reason, other than high
demand, for the price not to come back down to pre-price-hike levels. But,
they like it that way, to keep all of our home heating oil and the cost of
travel, shipped goods and food higher, thru the un-subdued use of diesel in
aircraft, ships, trains and big-rigs.
