dear all quattro lovers
one year ago tonight my fiance and i were burning up the interstate eastward
bound ///
in the 1989 Audi Quattro offered to us to drive after our beloved 89 diesel
coughed up its engine in garden city idaho
the owner of the shop fixing our van gave us this vehicle to drive as a
loaner cause we had to be in ohio in 38 hours
we drove it in 30 hours ... 2500 miles
snow ice bare road road blocks
nothing was a barrier and for some reason i had full trust in the ability of
this remarkable machine
then on the way back after we got married ..
we stopped at toms house in Illinois to pick up a fiberglass front bumper he
had retrieved for us
(thanks tom)
this is when the audi reveled another secret to us
if you lower the rear seat center arm rest ...
it has a ski containment bag hidden in it which allows access to the trunk
so the bumper fit in the fully packed car
when we delivered the magic audi machine back to the vanagon repair shop
i was in love and seriously thinking that i should by it but my wife does
not drive a standard so we would have no way to bring it back
and she would not be able to drive it anyway
but what a delight to drive ...
we celebrate our first anniversary tomorrow
and i think about how we should up in the old blue borrowed audi to get
married
yours

There are two kinds of jobs in the world:
Picking up garbage and telling people things.
Successful people do both, with the same good attitude. (riw)
