I use the Graco for drywall and painting mostly as that is part of my business.
The most cost effective sound dampener would be truck bed liner.
It works very well and is easy to apply, roll on or spray.

Yikes, don't think I will be spending $5000 on a spray system anytime soon! I do have a compressor here, and can probably buy a more specialized gun if needed. Until I get the interior stripped down, I'm not sure I will run into any rust or not, but will certainly take your advice as to proper preparation. When I had the fridge out, I was surprised to not see any trace of rust, as that's a common area to rust. From the pics on the website, it appears the company might have aerosol cans too? I won't doing any of this until the spring, so have plenty of time to figure this out. It's about 5° here at the moment, so a bit chilly for spray work;)
Cheers,
Troy

The water based products can be sprayed easily, but the $100 Wagners would not work in my opinion.
I use a Graco Mark 5, it runs about $5000.
This is the exact unit that the company sells to dealers for there products.
I have discussed with them becoming a dealer and spraying new cars.
The biggest issue with these products is not to cover up rust or damaged areas.
I POR15 the rust after stripping and sandblasting the area before appling any sound or rust proof materials.
I learned from experience not to cover up any iffy spots.....it will peel and in some cases cause major acceloration of rust if you just cover it over.
The last time I talked to them they were working on a waterbased product that could be sprayed with the less expensive systems....give them a call and discuss further.

Good to know. How thick does one have to spray for full effectiveness? Do you think this stuff would go through something like one of the inexpensive Wagner sprayers? I know they do pretty well with latex paint, as I did most of my house with one. Does the stuff expand when you spray it on or how does it work? Seems like it would be more effective than cutting up a bunch of the other sound deadening products out there, and get into smaller crevices and so forth. Thanks for the response.

I have used many of the products they offer.
All are excelent!
The company and customer service is very good as well.
I am set up to spray these products and have no idea how they would work if not sprayed.

I saw this link up on the samba list. Has anyone tired this product and care to comment about its performance?
