I took a 13 year vacation in the upper mid-west (IL, MI, MN) and I
feel I can give an honest opinion about this. I had a an '86 Vanagon
syncro, a '79 Dodge Ramcharger (4x4 like the full sized Blazer), a
Toyota 4x4 van and a Dodge Dakota 4x4 during this time. Plus numerous
2wd vehicles...
Ice sucks and AWD/4WD is great for getting out of the ditch.
