From my experience the fridge fan is noisy when it runs, and is normal. When it's warm outside I open the window and pull the curtain over the vents on the back of the fridge to channel the heat out the window. I do the opposite in cold weather, where I put the curtains close to the window to direct the heat in the cabin.

Here is Frank Condelli's solution to the noisy fan and to excess cabin heat. I've seen his setup and it's pretty slick. "http://www.frankcondelli.com/fridge.htm"

Some people replace the noisy fan with muffin fans from computers. I've see pictures of those but I cannot find the links for those. I think I recall that they are not as efficient at removing the heat as the noisy fan...they just don't push as much air.

BTW, that fan is activated by a heat sensor, so it will run no mater what mode you are using to cool your fridge IIRC.

Thanks for any suggestions, DJ
