<straight face? A basic rule of thumb for deep-cycle batteries is to have four times the amp-hour capacity of your largest expected draw in amps. For two thousand kilowatts that draw would be in the neighborhood of two hundred thousand amps, so you would want about eight hundred thousand amp-hours of capacity. I take it this is one of those stretch vanagons? You might want to consider an extra set of wheels in the middle. </straight face>

If on the other hand you're only looking for two kw, you'd still like to have about 800 amp-hours capacity. http://www.amplepower.com has a great deal of info you'll find interesting, along with a couple of books (_Living on 12 Volts with Ample Power_ and I forget the other one) likewise.
