Well, this engine I'm offering is way beyond any warranty period, so the presence or absence of Tiico is irrelevant. Also, I'm unaware of any special bits that would be unavailable due to the absence of Tiico. Anything I have ever needed for the Tiico, I have found locally. Furthermore, Van-Cafe has always supported these with parts......this is not an issue. There is nothing unusual or exotic about this engine. One great big advantage to this engine is how common the VW in line 4 is in Mexico. If you like to travel there, this is a good thing. The 2.1 Wasserboxer is not common in Mexico, nor are any of the more popular conversions, that I know of. Check out the Tiico forum at Yahoo Groups. The two biggest issues that I'm aware of with these were the cracking exhaust (installation issue) and the alternator mounting brackets cracking (a simple upgrade, parts provided by your local junkyard.) Pretty tough motor. Thanks, Miguel
