I believe those were Vanagon auto transmissions with a slightly higher final drive ratio. Might cut highway speed rpm's down by 300 rpm or so.

fwiw..........I dealt with that guy once.......the head guy of tiico........it was a very unpleasant and distrubing expereince. Don't want to be harsh on anyone having a 'personal tragedy' of course........whatever is happening there - don't know if someone died or what , But as far as 'Us all helping each other enjoy and love our vanagons and making them better' ..........at least in MY experience with that company ..........well, enough said.

Hoping everyone stays healthy and gets what they need. And loves and enjoys their vanagon, regardless of what type of engine powers it ! Scott
