The section in Wikipedia about London, Paris, Moscow bit *isn't* authoritative as it doesn't site a reference - further proof to me that the city light for use in bright citys is a myth.

As Wikipedia states, park lights and city lights and standing lights are used on an interchanging basis and it all means the same thing.  The lights that come on with the first position from off setting of the headlight are these lights [next position being headlights are fully on] - they are located either in the headlamp or in the signal marker **but never both** on a stock vehicle as the functions of these lights are the same - to function as what north americans would call a park light.

I'll still live up to the original offer of C$20 via PayPal to the first person who shows me that a city light and a park light are different sets of lights on a stock ECE or DOT compliant vehicle.

But that doesn't prove that was always the case, or > make them into "urban legends."
