Well, it's been a long time since I've looked into it, but I just touched my test probe against the end of one of the broken pressure switch wires and saw voltage--which I thought was definitely strange. I see your point and it now makes sense. It's given me no problems since. Apparently this is a common failure point with the wiring harness.
