Dennis,

I have told tha tale many times, but the Suburban model is the one I had installed right behind the back seat on my '98 loaf. Man, would that little sucker heat that van. I mounted a thermostat on the door post just behind the drivers head so it could be reached easily from the drivers seat. The thermostat I had an off position and then on and burn - all the way to the highest setting and anywhere in between. The heater itself had electronic ignition, and if I was driving along tithe heater "ON" and hit a bump - the flame might go out, but the electronic ignition immediately fired the heater off again. It put out so much heat that about a half-hour before getting off from work, I could go out, turn on the heater, and when I went out to go home, all the ice and snow were melted. No sweeping and scraping required. I sure did like that heater.

You will need an extension collar to mount it in the cabinet left of the fridge. These heaters are UL/RVIA listed and approved. 12,000 BTU/Hr heats a Vanagon real nice. > > Dennis > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of miguel pacheco > Sent: Saturday, December 13, 2008 11:00 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Heating van at night > > I think that's the one that came in Adventurewagens........looks just > like the one in mine.
