My friend and I went camping this weekend, with temps at night below freezing (it snowed too). Friday night had the electric heater on 1500W with the top up and barely kept warm. Saturday placed my adjustable hiking poles across the opening to the top and laid the windshield shade on top of the poles to keep more of the heat down in the van. I had to get up in the middle of the night to turn the heater down because it was too warm. Blocking off that opening really works! If I'm by myself, I just keep the top down.
