Everyone,

A couple of months ago John Reddick sold his personal bus with a 2002 Subaru engine to me. He said he was selling it for someone to remove the engine and transplant it into their bus. This is exactly what I am doing.

If you remember this past summer my '87 Westy burnt to the ground. I found another rust free '87 Westy in Denver and Labor Day weekend I flew out and drove it home. The Subaru engine from John's bus is now going in mine.

John said that his bus had a great body, not so good an interior, and was not worth reselling since the cost of adding a reliable VW engine and getting it through inspection would be way more than the whole vehicle was worth. He requested that I part it out. So that is what I am doing.

I have pulled off all the parts except those needed to keep it a 'roller'. What is left is the body/shell only. This body is really in great shape. It has never been in an accident. There is no rust on the body panels except at the very rear seams and that is truly minor. It would be a great find for someone who needs a clip or panels to repair an accident victim.

Please see my ad at http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=709836 for pictures.

I need to get this out by the holidays (or shortly thereafter). I'd really like to see it live on as an organ donor. Please don't make me take it to be recycled. Any offer from this list accepted.

I am in Brookeville, MD 20833

Regards,

Dave O '87 Westy being rebuilt
