Moderating couldn't be fun, I'd think, and would be time-consuming. However I am on some unmoderated lists (well, web-based mollusc & Toyota forums) and though there are some silly or pointless postings, things still seem to go okay. Personally I don't mind NVC postings... some are interesting; others can be deleted, even if this is a pain with clunky gmail slowed even further by a "dialup" connection. Heck, I've even contributed one or two myself. Well, it's a way of reaching others on a NVC subject without having to join horrid life-threatening webforums just to ask a question. Basically the list can function satisfactorily and happily so long as people reign in their tempers and don't let the flames rise too high. Andrew Grebneff Back in NZ and glad to be away from all those AWFUL American cars & pickups clogging the Canadian roads. Our thanks to Jim for giving a thankless task a good go. |
