Allan...Do we have to have a 'secret society' in order to have both the list
and free-will? If we can't discuss the list rules and operation in a public
fashion, doesn't this leave the door open for heavy-handed one-sided views
and limits? Why are only some topics kicked off? I have numerously wanted to
post to the list that a certain subject should not be allowed, but have
bitten my tongue in order to be more diplomatic.
If we ARE a community, we should be able to vote on list rules and operation
PUBLICLY. If we are NOT a community, then I would definitely support
starting a new list that is more democratic.
First thing I would do would be to put a filter in place that stops all NVC
comments right off the bat from posting to the list rather than chastise
later.
I commend the list moderator(s) but don't see some of the logice, that's
all.
