My '87 came without power steering and the larger 18" steering wheel. It was option on non-GL trim level Vanagons thru-out production.  TJ Hannink Goldibox - 1987 Vanagon Camper, Wolfsburg Edition 1981 Bluebird Wanderlodge, FC-33SB Des Allemands, Louisiana http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wolfsburg_campers http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FC_wanderlodge ________________________________ From: Greg Potts <greg@POTTSFAMILY.CA> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2008 10:38:43 AM Subject: Re: Adding Power Steering to an '87? Hi Loren, First off, I would have someone knowledgeable verify that the vehicle  actually lacks power steering. I've never seen a post-85 without it.... Perhaps it's an 85 bought new in 1987???
