I think both length and height would be the primary constraints. The MB oilpan/pickup would need to be modified--it's all aluminum. The only engines I'd bother installing are the OM601/602 4&5 (cyls). I'd try to lay it over on the port side a bit to reduce height. The oil filter housing would need to be relocated and powersteering pump mount and intake manifold would need to be modified. The OM602 turbo would be a sweet setup--123hp in stock form and up to 350hp with some "massaging". Yeah, I've daydreamed about this for a while...
