This is my guess. The oil on the store shelves now were produced with crew oil from last summer. Most gasoline is produced and consumed almost immediately. But engine oil is not consumed immediately. We only change oil a few times a year. So they don't produce oil everyday. But this is just a guess. It's likely the price is artificially kept high.
