Subject: charcoal cannister
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

My charcaol cannister is compacted and causing my fuel tank to flex. I don't like that this is happening and am concerned that it may cause problems with the rubber seals on top of the tank (recently replaced with fuel lines). I previously removed the cannister checked the valve and shook the cannister to try and get it to filter properly but feel that this is just a bandaid as this lasted about 10k. Has anyone on the list ever opened this cannister up and replaced the charcoal with the type that you might by for an aquarium filter? I guess you would have to saw it open to empty/refill it and then find a secure way to reseal it. I guess I don't want to pay the price for an entire new cannister if I could replace just the filter media within it (I think that the cannister is over $100.00). Any thoughts from the list on this idea? TIA.
