Subject: Refilling Audi A4 Cooling System
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Bryan,

I was a former Porsche tech and a VW tech (and I'm selling Audi's now). if the coolant bottle still has fluid in it, go ahead and top it off with some distilled water. If the coolant tank is empty, grab a bottle of G-12 and toss it in straight (do not mix with water). At all cost do NOT use other coolant. It's not so much that the VW/AUDI stuff is "magical" but when mixed with traditional coolants, it gels up and we made a lot of money at the dealer flushing cooling systems and refilling. It wasn't pretty and I felt bad for the folks. Hey, I didn't design it!

TJ

(Now if I could just figure out why my WBX is giving me $#!& I'd be happy.)

My wife's 98 A4 is a little low on coolant. Can I just add some water to top it off or do I need to add only the magic coolant found at the Audi dealer?

Please p-mail me off list.

Thanks, Bryan
