And yes, tdi's are a lot better, for sure.

Let's see..........I've owned a 240D Benz, worked on many, and did "TD
Vanagon" as my personal and main vehicle for about 7 years........
only the first engine blew, all the rest I put in where fine.
and I own two sunroof diesel vanagons right now, and 3 diesel engines..
Sure, they're great .
