what's wrong with the stock jack ?? - other than it's slow ? I find them so 'basically all right' I have one stock vanagon jack I keep around just for when I need to quickly jack up just one wheel on a vanagon out in the yard. I carry scissor types as an extra or back up on trips. Bottle jacks don't go low enough, and the cheap ones leak after a while.

for what you want for a 'flat tire jack'...............something that is a dedicated fit to the vehicle, , can go from quite low to pretty high, doesn't weight a lot, and doesn't take up a lot of space, the stock vanagon jack and its matching jacking points are hard to beat. It's a Much better system than many cars use.

are you sure you have the right jack for your vanagon ? .........like a 'real vanagon jack' ? As stock equipment jacks go, they're all right, if not even better than that. It's a good idea to carry one wheel chock too, and a 10 inch squire of thick plywood, for jacking on soft surfaces. Scott www.turbovans.com

Does anyone use these instead of the stock jack?

I hate the stock jack, Hi-Lift is too big for me (non-syncro), and I tried that scissor jack Bus Depot sold me, and I didn't care for that either...
