Non-locking is stock? The 3 Vanagon's I've owned all had the locking caps, none of them were bought new. I always thought the locking cap was standard so you wouldn't forget it.

In the last 40 years I think I've lost 2 gas caps so I guess I am forgetful but neither of them were for the Vanagon.
