This thread reminds me of one on the type2 list years ago, about driving off with the pop top in the fully raised position, which, believe it or not, some folks have done. I drove off once with mine down, but not latched. Luckily before I hit the highway I noticed a higher than normal amount of road noise. As for getting back in the vehicle while fueling, I'm guilty of that. When it's 20 degrees with a nice 35 mph wind blowing, it can be painful standing outside. But the solution is simple-touch any metal part of the vehicle to discharge the static electricity before touching the pump handle. Jeff
