The perfect tire for this predicament is the Yokohama 356 Super van that you can get from the www.tirerack.com for low money. They are a load range C tire and I really like them ( I run them on my vans). Tirerack always has them in stock so they are quick and easy to get. Just line up a local shop that is willing to install them. You should be able to find this tire listed under Vanagon on their site.
