Dear Holy Battery Replace it ... 100$ at any store that sells batteries will get you an excellent battery with ample cranking power unless you live in a place where the temp is often below -40

Lets pretend you fix the battery with some sort of magical substance that is able to withstand the rigors of electrical /battery acid environment and then one day due to another unexplainable act ... similar to drilling through the bottom of your battery (we have all done this or similar) the new event causes your repair to fail you said the hole is on the bottom so all your acid leaks out from that cell -- your battery is in one of three places ... maybe four if under the bench seat in the rear but what ever - no matter where it is -- if it leaks out the corrosive fluid will destroy what it contacts... and you will or may lose power ... which could or may cause an accident or at best a tow job plus the inconvenience and delay --- all of which will likely add up to considerably more than the 100$ you are going to spend today to know that your problem is solved and solved well

it continually amazes me where Vanagon owners choose to save money on these vans ... "we Love"

yours
