Yes, the '83 had the same crappy seats as the 4 years prior. Very uncomfortable. They were offered in 84 too but you could get a GL version with nice seats for the regular van which had armrests (and better seats) and the camper was available in the Wolfsburg edition. I was lucky enough to get an '84 Wolfsburg interior for my '83 from Chris at JordanView. (pictures at http://www.feddishbasses.com/VW/ ). Chris can better explain but I believe in '85 they stopped making those uncomfortable seats and started offering the nicer interior for all the vans.

Was looking at pictures of an '83 Westy interior and noticed the front seats had only one arm rest each on the inside, none on the outside. The door panels then had armrests bolted to the panels. Every Vanagon seat I have seen has had two armrests. ( I think)

Is this common on '83's? If so, when did that change to two armrests? The interior looked original, with cool kind of light blue and brown striping those those buses had.
