thats called "owner was too lazy to take the stupid armrests off the doorpanels when he added armrests from a later model vanagon"

no '80-'84 westys ever came with armrests, except for the '84 wolfs westy which had the tan velour capt chairs.

not to mention i have no idea why someone would bother adding armrests to those ugly horsehair and springs no padding '80-'84 westy front seats.. most people just pitch them and add the capt chairs w/ armrests in their entirety, as they have alot more padding and are far more comfortable.
