I do believe I remember this when the list switched to listserv software, which I was familiar with since we used it at the University of Colorado. What has faded is what came before.... And how long. I still think the list started in '92 or so. Conversion to listserv explains why the archives start April '94. There was no archiving before. Derek Drew asked the next day about that--bragging that he had 30 MB of extra disk space to devote(!) but nobody answered about where any archives could be found. The Golden Age of Computing--UBW.
