well............of course a tow truck driver will hook into anything handy ! they're generally not Phd's.
on virtually ALL 2WD vanagons, if you look under the front.......there are 3 holes in the 'frame structure' there......
I have not seen one 2WD vanagons, in hundreds...........where some of those holes were not ripped from tow truck hooks.
on syncro's.........you don't see so commonly, because those are often flat-bedded when towed.
what. ? .........you think people actually CARE !!!
that's a good one !!
I'm not that cynical.............not really, but what I have seen - oh brother.
'more' :
..........I bought this great little book.........'114 Reasons why your book will Never Get Published and 7 reasons Why It Just Might' ..........
a publisher/editor in San Francisco wrote it........just a brilliant little book.
it's aimed at mainly novel writers.
I knew it was a good book and was 'quite real' when I read, prior to purchasing it, reason # 12............which was................ 'You don't realize nobody gives a damn."
In other words, what WE hold as hyper important or obvious, may not be to others at all. Lots of cars are harmed by tow truck drivers., I hope yours wasn't.
That's why tow truck companies have insurance.

Ok, so the 2 holes at the bottom of the side cladding . . .
Can ANYONE offer any explanations as to why or how those could get broken?
I noticed when I got Blackbeard back (after the front-end work and
repainting) that the driver's side front "hole" (what exactly are these
called, anyway?) had been broken at the bottom (thin part on the lower part
of the hole).
Before I take him back (and demand a replacement part and repaint) I want to
be armed with a possible explanation in order to diffuse any "it was that
way when it got to me" type of argument.
Is it at ALL possible that some yokel in a tow truck could have somehow
pulled on this for ANY reason not knowing that it couldn't bear any pulling
force?
I just don't know . . . WEIRD!!!
