dear new Adventure Wagoner ...

good find ... well done .. if your vehicle has been sitting for a long time you may need to do a couple of things ...' New tires ... even if they look good to the eye ... the stress of sitting in one place for a long time then being asked to go round and round is likely too much of a hardship - the brakes may have separated asbestos from metal ... and seals may have let go that have not been flexed and used in the last however long i will be facing all this with my 89 lebaron when i put it on the road this summer after a two year + in storage (under a car cover) lots of mold to clean up ..etc ... any way ... glad to see you have found the sleeping VW-AW yours

I have just looked at an 84 adventure wagon. It has 39,000 miles and body is perfect, no rust no dents except 2 small dents. Paint is 2 tone faded but with wax should be great. it looks like it has been sitting a long time. It is part of an estate sale. Battery is dead and the sale person wouldn't let me jump it. She did let me hook up a charger and I can come back tomorrow. my question is what is the value of the adventure wagons, I see the layout of this one is very different than the standard westfalias I have seen. What is the history on these and what are they worth. I like tha hard top with all the windows and big skylight. What should I be looking at before buying? dj
