I joined the list in the mid-90's.  I remember Gerry as admin, Joel doing the stats, the birth of Bus Depot, Coyote and the trip he organized to Mexico and Central and South America, another travel blog by a guy whose name I can't remember but traveled with a dog and stayed with list members during his travels, and, of course, Larry Chase's travels.  Trip reports since have been much shorter and less interesting.  Another group purchase I participated in was the quick shift kit and shifter extension which came from Gene Berg.  I still have them in my '91 Carat. I had an '87 Vanagon at the time which had been severly butchered by the various non-Vanagon mechanics I took her to.  The list gave me the resources to take on the repair responsibilities myself.  Its been a fun time as my collection expanded to include the '91 Carat, an '85 Westy, an '82 Diesel Westy and a smattering of parts vans.

Long live the list!
