Early for me, but yawningly late for many of you I found the list early in '02.  A friend gave up on bay vans after three decades and two vans and I suddenly found myself wanting/needing a Vanagon camper.  I Googled (and Jeevesed and Lycosed) "Vanagon" and read every entry (try that when you have a few spare weeks) and viewed the list as a learning tool.  Worked.  From following advice in the posts I was able to recognize a sound and beautiful '87 Westy when I found it in '06 and we're still going strong approaching list year 8.
