Well, I would like to thank everyone for their responses to this thread. As most things go for me it was a bit more dificult to fix than I expected but I got it. Ended up the fuel line was split at the backside of that plastic firewall fitting. So even though the lines were new within the last two years and I do inspect them on a regular basis it was in a place I could never have seen of felt. So I replaced the line from that fitting to the fuel pump. While I was at it I used Max's suggestion for getting rid of the plastic fitting and replaced it with a small brass coupler with 5/16 barbed fittings on each end. So Grover is home and it looks like I have more lines to replace this weekend.

All is well that ends well. I'm still very grateful the problem happened just 16 miles from home as opposed to during our trip to NY. Thanks again for all the responses - oh and it can't be said too often - replace and inspect those fuel lines.

-- Thanks,
